An Online Memorial by Mercy for Life

The Cemetery of the Innocents

The flags stood for one weekend. This page keeps their memory.

Pink and blue flags fill the lawn at St. Thomas the Apostle, beside a sign that reads: Each flag represents a baby who loses their life to abortion every month in Arizona.

The flags were for one weekend. Their memory stays here.

In October 2026, the Cemetery of the Innocents returned to the lawn at St. Thomas the Apostle: pink and blue flags, one for every child lost to abortion in a single month in Arizona. The display was planned for Parish Pro-Life Weekend, and when the weekend ended, we gathered the flags as planned. The children they stand for are not forgotten.

This page is where we keep the Cemetery of the Innocents, so anyone, anywhere, can come back to remember them at any time.

What the Flags Represent

Every flag is a life

One flag. One child.

Known and loved by God from the very beginning.

There is hope

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Through prayer, peaceful witness and support for mothers and families, we are working to change that. We can’t do it alone.

Saints Who Pray With Us

Ask them to pray with you

The Church has long asked these saints to watch over children and mothers. A single line is enough.

The infant boys of Bethlehem who died in place of the Christ Child. The Church honors them as martyrs on December 28.

Ask them to pray for every child lost before birth.

Holy Innocents, pray for us.
